About Physiotherapy
What is it?
Physiotherapy helps people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. In the service, we combine hands-on treatment with targeted rehabilitation to reduce pain, restore function and improve quality of life. Physiotherapy is a regulated profession in the UK. The titles “Physiotherapist” and “Physical Therapist” are protected by law; practitioners must be HCPC-registered to use them. Paul Jacklin practices as an HCPC and CSP-registered Physiotherapist (MSc).
It is great for:
People come to physiotherapy for conditions affecting muscles, joints, nerves and soft tissues—especially when pain or reduced mobility limits daily life or activity. In our clinic we support: - Back and neck pain - Injuries (sprains, muscle tears, ligament strains) - Joint pain and stiffness (shoulder, knee, hip) - Tendon problems (Achilles, patellar, rotator cuff) - Post-surgical rehabilitation - Arthritis and age-related mobility issues - Nerve-related pain (e.g., sciatica) and postural concerns
Will it help me?
Physiotherapy takes a personalised, evidence-based approach to address the causes of your symptoms and guide recovery. Sessions are built around your goals—returning to activity, managing pain, or staying active as you get older. We see people of all ages; if you’re unsure what’s wrong, we can assess, explain and begin treatment at your first visit.
What happens in a treatment?
You don’t need a GP referral to book private physiotherapy with us. At your appointment we will: take a full history, assess movement and function, provide hands-on therapy (such as mobilisation/manipulation or soft-tissue work), prescribe tailored exercises and give advice on activity and self-management.
